Whirlpool State Park
The sun was shining and the Pavilion was garnished with Baskets for the Basket Auction. The grills were lit and Sahlen’s were ready to be grilled. The clock struck ten and the registration table was busy with Volunteers setting up people to Walk at 11. People young, old, running and walking came to Whirlpool State Park for the same reason; to help support those who are hungry in Niagara County.
Last year alone, Community Missions (CMI) served over 65,000 meals to adults and youth who walked through its doors and were hungry. This year, due all of the youth groups, churches, school groups, business and individuals who participated and raised sponsorships raised $9.865. On behalf of Community Missions and those we serve through each dollar we raise, we thank all who participated and walked to raise awareness of the increasing epidemic of hunger and homelessness in Niagara County.
