Mission Projects For Many Hands

There are a range of projects that can be done at Community Missions. We can accommodate both small and large groups and can arrange for your work to cover the length of your stay while making sure you have plenty of time to take full advantage of all the Niagara Region has to offer visitors.

Your work could include things like:

  • Preparing and serving meals in our Community Kitchen
  • Sorting and packaging non-perishable food for distribution in our Food Pantry
  • Helping in our Clothes Closet Building maintenance, and grounds work
  • Providing special programming for those who use our services (worship, music, education, entertainment, etc.)
  • Using the special talents and gifts of your group for more extensive construction, maintenance, or remodeling projects at one of our facilities through out Niagara County.

One of our main goals is to be sure that everyone who volunteers at the Mission feels they have made a difference. We will work with you to be sure that your work here connects back into the life of your church. One way we do this is by offering a self-guided biblically based group reflection using a resource we have created called the Church Engagement Seminar.

About Community Missions

Community Missions was founded in 1925 as a result of a Billy Sunday Revival held in Niagara Falls. Since that time we have been blessed to minister to those in need providing emergency housing and other crisis services.

Over the past 87 years, we have expanded our ministry and now provide a unique blend of residential and community-based service throughout Niagara County. We offer crisis services such as a 42 bed homeless shelter, community kitchen, food pantry, as well as services for at risk youth, adults and youth living with mental illness, a parole re-entry program, the only residential program in Niagara County for individuals with HIV/AIDS, and much more. Our Crisis Services are offered at no charge and provide compassionate support geared to help individuals and families make sustainable transitions to greater stability and independence.
