Niagara Falls, NY.Once activated, the respite bed is staffed on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. The staffing component is made up of qualified CMI employees who complete one-to-one supervision shifts, in an eight (8) hour rotating shift. This (24) hour staffing component includes wake supervision and monitoring on the overnight shift, and provides for the cooking of meals, recreation time, daily living skills instruction and leisure plan during day and evening time frames. Activities are completed with youth on-site (board games, books, videos, etc.), or as behavior allows within the local city area (movie theaters, recreation centers, YMCA, etc.). Staff are trained and able to ensure medication monitoring, and will be alerted regarding any other special needs the youth may have.
