2017 Compassion In Action Awards - Dorothy Tubinis

Community Missions will hold its 25th Annual Awards Brunch on Wednesday, May 24 at the LaSalle Yacht Club. Each day leading up to the event, we will profile one of the upcoming honorees. Today, Dorothy Tubinis, recipient of the Youth Services Award, will be featured.

Dorothy has been active in the Tidings of Joy program for several years on behalf of the Elks Lodge #346. In 2016, the Lodge moved to a different location and she was unable to participate with collecting gifts.

Instead, she held 50/50 raffles, bingo collections and donated $350 to Aurora House residents. For many years she has collected winter clothing for veterans. She runs a new clothing drive for the Veterans' Hospital, has a Veterans' lunch as well as Veteran's Day activities. She continually volunteers for the Elks Lodge whenever there is an activity to help others.
