Community Missions' COVID-19 Update 4-2-20

Let's begin by saying that the past few weeks have been different to say the least around Community Missions!

As we previously shared, many of our programs have shifted their models to keep our staff, residents, and guests safe and healthy. Community Kitchen meals have been handed out as to-go meals, in-person visits with our mental health residents have shifted to phone calls, and our valued volunteers have been asked to stay home.

But despite these challenges, we have been proud to continue meeting the needs of the community! Staff have stepped up in many new ways. To keep our food services consistent, employees have been pitching in each day to get lunch ready, or by making up bags for distribution in our food pantry.

We have also benefited from many generous food donations! Many local restaurants and distributors have donated beautiful product that they are unable to use. We are so thankful to all of these donors that have considered us during this time!

These donations have been needed. For reference, during the last two weeks of February, we served for 115 households in our Food Pantry. During the last two weeks of March, however, we have provided food to 236 households! This is along with approximately 100 meals that our Kitchen continues to turn out six days each week to the public.

As a friend of Community Missions, you know that the services we provide are essential to our Niagara neighbors. We know that this crisis may have impacted you directly, and we understand that you may not be able to support us as may normally. But if you are able, we would appreciate your gift, perhaps now more than ever. Click here to support Community Missions today!

During this time especially, we would appreciate your prayers for our continued work here on the Niagara Frontier. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to continuing our work together!
