General Overview or Main Functions: Provides peer support and activities of social engagement for the Transitional Housing and Rapid Re-Housing components of the YHDP program, including assistance with referrals, admission assessments and Intake. Maintains safe environment for young adults and staff. Ensures the sleeping hour supervision (Midnight – 8am) of the Transitional Residence is covered each day of the week, in partnership with additional Peer Support Specialist. Assures required records and communications are completed and maintained. Follows written procedures of regulatory and certifying bodies (HAWNY, HUD, Medicaid, DSS, OSHA, Health Department, etc.) as well as upholding guidelines, procedures and policies of Community Missions, Inc. On-Call responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree preferred. Lived experience with homelessness a must; Minimum 21 years of age; Red Cross Training; Infraction-clear NYS Driver’s License. Previous experience with transition age youth, homeless youth or adults; computer skills; Conflict Resolution skills; Ability to work within a team; Independent Living Skills.
Salary Range: $29,536 - $33,945 Annualized (Based on Experience) - Provided free room and board in the Transitional Residence
