Additional Information:

On Sunday, July 27, 2014, the Men in White Choir is presenting "Music With A Mission," a benefit concert to support, celebrate and honor the work of Community Missions of Niagara Frontier, Inc. The concert will take place at the historic First Baptist Church at 554 Main St. (4th & Main) in Niagara Falls, and begins at 5:00 P.M. (doors open for seating at 4:30 P.M.). A reception with light refreshments will follow the concert.

The Men in White Choir from Buffalo, NY are the featured performers for the evening, with special guests The Chapel at Crosspoint Choir. The concert is free an open to the public and a free will offering will be collected to support the work of Community Missions.

The Men in White Choir have performed for the Mission in the past. "We learned about Community Missions a year or so ago when they invited us to perform a few songs at their annual Gospel Fest" said Pat Ragan, Visionary & Founder of the choir. "We were impressed with the many services they offer and with just how long and how hard they have worked to bring compassion and love to individuals and families in such deep need."

Community Missions has been serving those in need in the Niagara Region since 1925. The Mission is the largest private provider of Crisis Services in Niagara County. In 2013, the Mission provided over 75,000 meals and nearly 11,000 nights of care within its crisis services programs. Additional agency programs serve adults and youth with psychiatric disabilities, parolees, individuals with HIV/AIDS, at-risk youth and other underserved populations in both residential and recovery-oriented settings.

The program will open with a performance by The Chapel at Crosspoint Choir, directed by Alan Dusel, Choir and Orchestra Director at The Chapel. "When we were approached to be part of the Music With A Mission benefit concert along with the Men in White Choir, I was very excited" Dusel said.  "The Men in White are just great, and Community Missions is so worthy of the support. I first worked with Community Missions on an annual Christmas CD they were producing several years back, and I'm glad to help out again."

Dusel also explained that the Chapel Choir usually takes a break over the summer, but "our choir members feel blessed at having this opportunity to serve and help with the work of Community Missions. The choir is very motivated and looking forward to being part of this concert to support the Mission."

During the concert there will be information presented about the Mission including brief video interviews with individuals who have benefited from the services the Mission provides in the community. Rev. Mark Breese, the Missions' Minister and Director of Ministry and Community Partnerships, said that there is much excitement about the concert. "I am glad that both choirs are so committed and enthusiastic about helping the Mission. Their music will give us an opportunity to share our story and let people know how they can get involved."

That is the hope of the choirs as well. "The Men in White Choir feels so happy and blessed to be able to present the Music With A Mission concert along with the Chapel at Crosspoint Choir to help support the work of Community Missions" said Ragan. She encourages the community to "come out and celebrate Community Missions with us and the Men in White Choir. This Music does have a mission, and you can be part of it too!"
