General Description: Facilitates transportation for youth who reside at Aurora House and who have emotional or behavioral difficulties. Is directly responsible to assist in transporting to medical and psychiatric appointments, outpatient providers, home time and other scheduled appointments for the youth. Ability to handle stress and physical activity, flexibility to Division needs and a varied schedule. Ability to lift fifty pounds and sit for extended periods while driving safely. Ability to access Residents in their housing situation. Assures a safe, clean, therapeutic living environment. Follows written procedures and instructions of the Program Manager, Community Missions, and the Office of Mental Health. Carries Facility Cell Phone to ensure emergency and routine communications.
Accountable To: Aurora House Program Manager
Qualifications: High School or General Equivalency Diploma; 21 years of age or older; infraction clear NYS Driver’s License with appropriate driving experience; NYS State Central Registry Clearance, NYSOMH Fingerprint Clearance. Minimum one year experience working with at-risk youth; Crisis Intervention skills; Conflict-resolution skills; Record-keeping skills.
Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00 hourly
Hours: Part Time, Up to 32 hours per week
